Will Smith: I am Scientologist

Apologies for my Apple Display rumour mongering, it did turn out nobody much cared, even when I tried to push it on some forums, so I’ll have to try harder to find a better story next time… anyway I thought it was important to inform you of some news concerning one of a lot of people’s favourite actors…

willsmithscientologist

Yep, you got it, Will Smith is now a Scientologist, I found this out to my shock on the Colbert Report…

All I can say is everything I’ve heard about scientology is bad, so this can’t be good. As a bonus, here’s South Park’s summary of what Scientologists actually believe.

By the way, I did the poster, and I’m not so keen on Will Smith anymore.

Wild Speculation II: Gizmodo weighs in…

iceberg-macworld

“Apple Cinema Displays. Long overdued and surpassed by the competition at this point, the Apple Cinema Displays could be renewed in this Macworld. However, with new Mac Pro systems without any aesthetic change, don’t expect a revolutionary change in terms of design. Most probably, it will be an evolution that will match the current professional desktop and in line with the looks of the latest iMac. (emphasis mine)

So it could look like this? This image I found on Apple.com?

It will be cool to see how this plays out, but even if I am right, nobody’s going to care. Darnit.

So I finally got my graphics tablet working…

My graphics tablet, a Trust 1200 Wireless Tablet has been lying unused in my bedroom for about a year, I once had a dream of doing a grand web comic called Men N’ Bots, but my Windows PC was too crappy to handle my leet skills. So I got a mac, and low and behold, my tablet didn’t work. Well long story short, I put some batteries in, and found some compatible drivers (not by Trust) and it works like a charm, and it’s truly great.

So to get to the point, I’ve been doing some drawing, and here’s one I’d like to show you…

It isn’t perfect, but yeah it was like my second try, and I sortof cheated on the face, if you call tracing cheating. But I still need to master the art of faces.

and yes… OK OK, I promise my next one will not be of Evangeline Lilly. I promise, gimme a break, geez.

Wild Speculation: Did Apple leak their new cinema displays?

Without wanting to turn my site into the lamest Apple Rumour blog in history, I did today find this image on the site for the new Mac Pros released todaytechnology_graphics_displays20080108

Certainly, they look just like the cinema displays we know, but that Apple logo is black. Like the new iMac… and unlike the current displays and the top frame seems to be taller than the old ones. Obviously this isn’t an exact science (there may be perspective involved), but I’ve made an image to show what I’m on about.

SPECULATION

If that is extra space up there, are there iSight cameras photoshopped out?

Anyway, I just thought I’d post this, in case I’m right, I’ve also submitted it to 9to5Mac in the hope they think it has merit.  If it turns up there, I’ll post a link.

Macworld is a week away! So not long to find out!

UPDATE 19:33 GMT: 9to5Mac got in contact with their opinion on this display thing…

“I think your case is good but not good enough…plus we’ve heard the new displays are going to be black”

Well, I thought it would be cool to share my findings anyway, 9to5mac knows more about Apple than I ever will, but I’d like to remind readers that Apple just launched a new set of silver Mac Pros.

Time will tell on this one.

Quick Review of the Year: 2007

Well the year is almost complete, and it’s a time to look back. This year has been one of major changes, without a doubt the hardest going to university.

This year I’ve done a few exciting things, like going on a boat and being filmed on the local news. I saw my elbow on local television, you can’t get much better than that.

Celebrity Spotting

Now I can’t entirely be sure if I saw all of these this year, but I’ve racked my brain to try and remember what celebrities I’ve seen in real life this past year. Here we go.

South Today's Roger Johnson, who viciously cut me out of his sailing piece. Boris Johnson (Who zoomed past me on his bike)

Derren Brown George Alagiah

Nick Knowles (DIY SOS) David Randini (Isle of Wight Magician)

Beth Ditto (Gossip) Kate Nash

Primal Scream

others included Chemical Brothers, Rob Da Bank, Joanna Lumley you know, the usual.

I’m like the youngest in my year, which means I’ve always felt a little left behind, but at uni, my flatmates are all around 20+, my best friend is 20 (due to having taken a year at art college, which I would have done had they not been vindictive prats), though I’m sure most of my class are my age, perhaps it’s best I don’t find out.

You know, I started this with as grand plan of this being the length of Genesis, but it’s 2008 now, and I think it’s ok, thoughts?
