Awesome!
I hope I one day get caught in the middle of one of these, or one day to be in one, but Improv Everywhere have struck again. Enjoy the video below.
In a competition held to precede the Paris Exposition of 1889, one winner was unanimously chosen, Gustave Eiffel’s ‘Eiffel Tower’. [Discover France]
The year 2009 will mark the tower’s 120th anniversary. So what have they done? well held another competition of course! This time it was to redesign any of the tower’s public reception and access areas.
The winners were Paris based Serero Architechts who have designed a large extension to the top floor of the tower. The idea? Everyone wants to get to the top floor, the top floor is tiny, so make it bigger.

By the way, it’s only temporary.

I’ve been using the BBC’s online iPlayer for some time, and for the first time the on demand player is coming to proper television, via Virgin Media (formerly NTL). The big news, however, is that Samuel L. Jackson, star of Pulp Fiction (and the classic Snakes on a Plane) has been hired for Virgin’s advertising campaign!
This follows other big stars such as Uma Thurman (also of Pulp Fiction) who have taken part in campaigns for the newly rebranded network now headed by ever popular boss Richard Branson.
I look forward to seeing the ads!

According to TechCrunch, Facebook want to launch an instant messaging service, now I know that almost everyone I know is on Facebook, and as such the service has the potential to completely change my online social experience.
According to TechCrunch, the service will be embedded on the Facebook site and available as Jabber chat for programs that support it, like my personal favourite Adium but I happen to know everyone I’ve ever met has used Windows Live Messenger, and as we know that doesn’t support plugging in anything really.
So this could end up being as lame as GTalk (no friends on GMail), MySpace IM (Came too late and was Windows only), or it could be something new, revolutionary, and exciting. It will be interesting to see if people can cope with an instant messenger in the browser (since I doubt many people are going to know how to plug into its jabber capabilities).
We’ll see.
In other news AOL, who just bought social network of-two-years-ago Bebo.com have announced they want to integrate their Instant Messenger AIM into the service. In my opinion it’s a bit late to start invading Europe with your messaging service.
Well we are several months away from knowing who will win the election, and the respective parties haven’t even finalised who is their candidate. However I have dared to ask the impossible question, who do the amazing audience of this website think should be the next president of the United States of America?
And you didn’t disappoint.
This was very interesting, as we had many votes varying from party to party. The winner was Barack Obama, as you can see, he had my vote.
One vote below hoever, Ron Paul proved to be everyone’s favourite grand-pa with his libertarianism, which you know is pretty inspiring, but still, has he got much of a chance? No offense.
The last few days saw stragglers votes with Hillary Clinton getting one vote and then, strangely, perhaps, Huckabee getting a vote today. All I can say is wow. If McCain becomes president, we didn’t see it coming.
Thanks so much for voting, and we will have a new poll later today!
